2013 was a big year at Kryton. We celebrated 40 years in business kicking off our celebrations at another successful World of Concrete show in Las Vegas. We looked at the vulnerability of concrete durability around the world, and showed how reducing water permeability can improve durability, and lead to more sustainable infrastructure. A new long term independent study from the University of Hawaii, evaluated the effects of corrosive seawater on rebar embedded in concrete, comparing different pozzolans and crystalline admixtures.
Some of our projects won awards in 2013, such as Casa Bella Verde winning the ICF Builder award, and Torrent Shotcrete winning the award for Outstanding Project of the Year for Infrastructure, for their work on Van Dusen Botanical Gardens. Kryton also took home three awards from the Construction Marketing Awards in Animation (Stickman Videos); Booth Design (World of Concrete Booth); and for a Direct Marketing Campaign.
We finished the year off with a great party for our supporters and customers, finishing off our 40th Year in Business in style!
Thank you for reading Concrete Thoughts, and happy waterproofing for 2014!
