Ocean Concrete's colourful silo's on Granville Island are one-of-a-kind.
However, when walking buy, you may not realize that the oldest and largest business that operates on Granville Island is a key cog in the construction industry. Ocean Concrete was established on Granville Island 129-years ago (under different company names) and is one of Vancouver's largest suppliers of commercial and residential ready-mixed concrete.
Ocean Concrete will be opening their doors this weekend for the entire family. The 17th Annual Ocean Concrete Open House will be held on Saturday April 25th, 2015. There will be interactive displays, prizes to be one, and a chance to learn a little bit about the importance of concrete, not to mention the industry-leading environmental practices that Ocean Concrete
Kryton will be displaying at the event, handing out a free hardhat to all the children in attendance! They can be found at the front gate, as well as at the Kryton booth, where Kryton will also be handing out Stickman Temporary Tattoos. Also at the Kryton booth, visitors will have the opportunity to test their skills with some water gun fun!
With their current lease expiring in 2046, Ocean Concrete will be a part of the Granville Island scene for decades to come – the funky silos acting as a beacon for the development of the lower mainland.
