Once again, Kryton was proud to sponsor University of British Columbia Engineering Student’s concrete canoe. For the second year in a row, the students have participated in this International event with an outpouring of enthusiasm which gave way to an innovative canoe design. The 2015 canoe participated in two international competitions, and was aptly named “The Voyageur”. Weighing in at 155kg, and 5.87 meters long, the UBC team used recycled expanded glass and locally made concrete.

The UBC team competed in two tough competitions - ASCE Pacific Northwest Regional Competition (Pocatello, Idaho) (Placed 3rd overall) and Canadian National Concrete Canoe Competition (Toronto , Ontario) (Placed 10th overall). They also received the Spirit of the Competition Award at the CNCCC in Toronto.

Congratulations to the whole team, and we look forward to seeing what innovations blossom next year!
