Rising Florida Construction Market Offers New Opportunities

The inaugural Miacon (Miami Construction Show) went down last week with international attendees from 43 countries throughout the Caribbean, South and Central America, and Southeast US. As a hands-on tradeshow, many exhibitors took advantage of the international platform to showcase and demo their products right from the show floor. Kryton was pleased to showcase the unrivalled swelling capacity of our new Krytonite Swelling Waterstop, as well as discuss our waterproofing systems for concrete structures with an engaged group of local and international contractors.

The Kryton Team took this opportunity to connect with industry professionals, presenting them with an exciting opportunity: we are growing our distributor network to include exclusive distribution opportunities in Florida.

While they were there, the team dropped in on a few of the many exciting projects that Kryton is currently working on in Florida.

One project is a thoroughly modern self-storage facility on Alton Road (above) in Miami Beach, utilizing KIM Admixture in the base slab, columns and elevator pit.  Another is a restoration project at the historical and gorgeous Vizcaya Museum & Gardens where a hundred year old outdoor pool is being protected with Krystol T1 & T2 surface treatment. Finally, they dropped by the sexy W South Beach Hotel (left) also in Miami Beach to have a look at some foundation repair work being done.

We work hard at Kryton to develop permanent waterproofing solutions that enhance the durability of concrete, and take a lot of pride in the application of these systems. We pass our decades of concrete waterproofing knowledge on to our distribution partners through an extensive training program at our headquarters in Vancouver, BC. At the end of training our new distributors are not only comfortable with applying our products, but possess a high level of technical expertise as to the specific qualities of the products. Ongoing support is always available from our team of Engineers to ensure a highly professional level of quality control.

The Florida construction market is growing, with new construction throughout the state experiencing high rain fall, and very risky water tables, sometimes only a few feet deep. As the recent Miacon show demonstrated, the construction opportunities in Florida are growing in a number of areas including high-end condo developments in Miami, theme parks in Orlando, and new infrastructure throughout the state.
