Last week, our Vice-President of Product Development, Kevin Yuers, visited Kryton’s China office  for the annual Kryton China Distributor Summit. Kryton’s Regional Manager in China, Helen Qiao, was pleased to introduce him to some new projects that are on the go, and show him some of the new developments in the area.

Their first visit was to Broad Sustainable Building Group. They are the green-minded Chinese company who intend to build the world’s tallest building – Sky City – in Changsha, Hunan, China. To satisfy the Chinese government and prove their ability, they are currently building a 100 story building. All of their buildings are pre-fabricated and are erected in a small fraction of the time that regular buildings take.

Have a look at a time-lapse of one of their previous projects. It’s quite amazing!

Then they visited the new Ping An Finance Center tower under construction in Shenzhen. When completed it will stand 660 m (US equivalent?) tall and be the tallest building in China.

The next day, the China Distributor Summit in Beijing began with opening remarks from Josiane Simon, Senior Trade Commissioner to China from the Government of Canada.

During his trip, Kevin also met with Omar Ahmad Adi Al Bitar, the UAE’s Ambassador to China at the UAE Embassy.

Kevin remarks “We discussed a variety of subjects relating to trade with China and I was struck by how similar Canada and the UAE are as nations, in our relationship with China and also our respective nation’s foreign policy generally.”
